Thanks to all who replied!

I think this thread has generated as many questions as answers, and I'm still
uncertain if any machine in the _strict_ sense can make a decision.

Reason, is entirely different and certainly is beyond the grasp of the most
powerful of computers.

Artificial Intelligence, is tricky to begin with as no one has defined it in a
way we all can agree.

1. Artificial Intelligence: The ability to emulate the human brain/mind.
I.E. HAL from '2001: A Space Odyssey'. (This suggests awarness as well.)

2. Artificial Intelligence: Just simple mimicry, no thought involved, but
achieving the same or similiar result through programming, memory
and processing. (However, it's restricted to it's programming.)

If others would like to continue this thread, I'm interested.

If some here would like to post what they feel are the best links to help
answer these questions, please do so!

Thanks Again!

Regards,
 Terry McCracken
