Is there a place >or way that cm8k displays the number of moves to mate ? The "xx" math is: (100-xx) / 2, rounded up. So, 99.97 = ((100-97) / 2) = (3/2) = 1.5 = Mate in 2. After you get the patch for CM8000, the Thinking lines window displays "MateXX" rather than "99.xx". CM5500 is more than a bit clunky for getting analysis within a game (especially if you want to move around in that game and get analysis for several different consecutive positions). With CM8000's Thinking Lines window, just check the "Chessmaster" checkbox, set the game to be human vs. human, and you can move around at will and the TL window will display "infinite" analysis. jm
