So unless you want to inclued DOS programs in your auto232 you will not need that expense!! A normal null modem cable will do for most of the comm port 232. By most I mean ChessPartner, Chessbase, and all engines that run in them. There are other guis that will allow 232. One good one is Remi Coulom's wbengine0047. This will allow 232 using winboard engine, without installing winboard.. There is winboard its self. I will be willing to help get you going if you have any probs, by email!! The Lan can be done through ChessPartner 5.2... You will need to ask further on that. I don't know? Chris
