hi; a null modem cable can be purchased at any electronic/computer spare part shop; ask for a 9 pin null modem cable(serial port to serial port with pins 1 & 2 crossed). it costs about £6.50 ie equivalent to $10.00 or so and is commonly used for transferring files from 1 comp to another. i just bought mine a couple of weeks ago and it works! rajen On August 06, 2002 at 06:36:02, Rory Nolan wrote: >I am thinking of linking my laptop and desktop for matches between different >chess programs, my silly question is..
