This time was slightly higher than I would have expected (not enough to affect
the conclusions) so I retested with a clean boot-up (i.e. no previous analyses
done). Now CG5dos/x, 31Mb hash, no permanent brain, 2 player/analysis mode
[mode does not make a difference in general] gives +3.18 and 168 secs, slower
than the c145 secs before. I conclude some analysis mode work prior (?) to me
switching permanent brain off for the formal test had left some useful unflushed
material in the hash tables... :-) And with few pieces, hash would have been
filling quick...

168:79 is still not that good, compared to (say) any of the benchmarks Ed uses
at http://www.rebel.nl/bench.htm to compare hardware differences. For example,
BT20 on R8 gives a 41:11 ratio for the hardware (i.e. nearly four times,
compared to just over 2 times on Cg5). Hmmm...

Best conclusion from the "freak" position anyway: Genius remains #1 at endings,
and its advantage is more on old hardware. :-)
