I have tested the new Aristarch 4.4 of Stefan Zizproth against the world champion Junior 7 at 2hr/40moves+1hr/20moves+30min. Aristarch seemed to have the best time allocation based from a position. Like thinking long in an unclear position or something that needs time to get an upper hand. Easy moves are too easy too for this engine, it has a relatively high searched depth in the middle than in the endgame (maybe i got lost on the parameters, i did not use the default one), Junior has a high searched depth but Aristarch is right behind there. This engine likes to attack the king. Here's some positions with unusual double digit time allocation in minutes. ------------------------------------------------------------ Junior 7 - Aristarch 4.4 24... a6 (-0.10/15 17.50) [D]5rk1/p1q2ppp/2r3n1/3p4/Q2Bn3/P5P1/5PBP/1R1R2K1 b - - 0 23 ------------------------------------------------------------ Junior 7 - Aristarch 4.4 32... Qd7 (0.11/16 18:13) [D]3q2k1/6pp/p3np2/8/4r2P/PQ4P1/5P2/BR4K1 b - h3 0 31 ------------------------------------------------------------ Junior 7 - Aristarch 4.4 35... Re2 (0.09/15 10:07) [D]Q2n2k1/6pp/p4p2/8/4r2P/P2q2P1/5P2/B1R3K1 b - - 0 34 ------------------------------------------------------------ Can't see Junior thinking long like this (double digit), well the game is played where a player can talk to arbiter at opponent's turn to move, under AMD Athlon xp 1600+, that one game was drawn in a rook and pawn ending at move 60.
