Perhaps an heuristic as simple as this would suffice: "for the -say- first 15 moves of the game history, each figure still in his original square gives a negative score" After the 15 moves the rules is desactivated. That negative score shold be enough low not to compensate for good reasons to say in place, if such reasons exist. Sometimes a bishop in f1 or f8 could be or definitively is superior to one apparently developed in e2 or e7. But if everything is flat and quiet, the low level should stimulate some kick in the ass for lazy pieces... My best fernando
