I don't dispute that impression or the likelihood of Aristarch performing according to the most optimistic expectations. However, I would like to see some solid evidence. There's a tendency to overevaluate new strong engines, eg. "engine X beats the pants of everything om my comp". Behaviour that's not always reproducable. I would be a very happy puppy if an amateur engine was capable of scoring more than 40% against your average recent commercial engine (on more than one computer). It's good to have new candidates. >By the way, in the Match Aristarch 4.4 vs Nimzo 7.32 (40'/40) it stands 1-1 but >in the running third game, Aristarch 4.4 is already a pawn up. I'm running a little match against Pepito (also 40/40'). Mainly to test my new Pepito book. So far Pepito is leading 3-1 with an advantage for Aristarch in the fifth game. The progress of Pepito is definately due to my opening book *cough*. Regards, Mogens
