It can be a large collection without a lot of thought involved (eg. Crafty and Yace). Preferences can be determined later. Sometimes result (to calibrate winpercentage for example or avoid draws), moveorder (not all books are transpositional) and size of the resulting book are important factors. Then you need a smaller collection. That's probably not a bad idea. Depends on the ability of Movei to develop its pieces and castle in the opening. Not all top programs are good at that, so I imagine it's a weak spot to be exploited. >I may consider having a lot of lines like 1.a3 1.c3 1.d3 1.e3 1.h4 or >1.e4 a6 in my next book. There are other more common, but not frequently played, variations, where it's possible to be especially prepared. Depends on the amount of work you're willing put into it. Regards, Mogens
