I have run the match against Pharaon (see below), and position tests from an EPD
file, without any problems whatsoever in the Shredder *5* GUI (predecessor of
Shredder 6 "classic"). I didn't use the setup function, or play from the EPD
positions though (only analysis mode for testing).

Do you mean the Fritz-like Shredder 6 GUI or the "classic" one?

For the Fritz GUI, there's a new UCI.dll version update, version no. 1.0.0.10
available for download. Maybe that solves the problem (?). The Aristarch readme
mentions an update of that connection module, done especially for that engine.
