I am a clubplayer of chess and checkers (also of go actually :-). You are right : checkers is way more tactical than chess. This doesn't mean there isn't strategy, but actually on the 8*8 english (I play italian's one but it's the same) there is less than in chess. I'm not an enough good international checkers player to say how much strategy there is in. Maurizio
