Before, I concluded that Aristarch is without doubt the best freeware program
out there. I think I was wrong, and this impression is not only based on the
games that I played with it, but also from results I have seen played by others.

================================================================================
PAVS,  2002

Aristarch 4.4     - Shredder 6.02          3.5 - 6.5
Aristarch 4.4     - Hiarcs 8               4.5 - 5.5
Aristarch 4.4     - Fritz 7                3.5 - 6.5
Aristarch 4.4     - Yace 0.99.56           4.0 - 6.0
Aristarch 4.4     - Chess Tiger 14.0       4.0 - 6.0
Aristarch 4.4     - theking                5.5 - 4.5

That's 25/60 for Aristarch.
Though the Scores are Impressive, I believe it is of same strength as YACE.

Pentium III/1ghz  512-SDRAM
Hash = 100mb (except TheKing)
Ponder = off
3-4-5 men TB.
All program using there own book except TheKing, which is using Powerbook2002.
