Who really needs to more than 8 hours of analysis with a program? The only
example I can think of is for opening analysis where I routinely look at
positions at a depth of 15 to 17 ply. I haven't actually clocked it, but the
difference between 15, 16, and 17 ply with Fritz 6 seems rather large. It seems
like it can can get to 15 ply in less than an hour, but I have waited up to 2
days for 17 ply. Maybe what I am seeing is just different positions taking
different amounts of time. Maybe I will clcok it.
