It is almost certainly not going to happen, at least not in the way that you
suggest (CD requirement). There were MANY more people who complained about
requiring the CD than asked how to use The King in other GUIs.

But there has to be SOME way for us to know that the user is a legitimate owner
of The King engine, and the only way to get The King is to own Chessmaster.
Therefore, the most logical way is to have The King and the GUI communicate and
verify each other, and this is done via the OPK method.

It is not acceptable (IMO) for a chess engine itself to ask for a CD; that is
the job of the GUI. So putting that kind of protection directly in The King is
not a good idea. I will discuss this with Johan, but I doubt that anything will
be changed for CM9000.
