No, they were not the owners. Nor were the people who Ubi Soft bought it from (Gores Technology group), nor were the people that THEY bought it from (Mattel Interactive). At that time Chessmaster was owned by The Learning Company and was released as a Mindscape product. This was almost exactly four years ago. Also, I think we might be discussing at cross purposes. Previous versions of Chessmaster never supported (and never were tested) on any of the NT-based versions of Windows (NT4, NT5, Win2K). Windows XP is the first NT-based OS that Chessmaster is supporting. However, do you not agree that, just because it supports XP it is not necessarily going to work on OLDER NT-based OSes? jm
