Well, he certainly doesn't know much about Catholicism! This statement:

"
. . . but the Church he heads claims to be the one true Church and the bride of
Christ."

has not been true since the 1970's, when the Pope officially recognized and
validated all "Catholic and Apostolic" faiths". (Apostolic faiths refer to all
faiths who trace their roots back to the apostles - Anglican, Eastern Orthodox,
(directly), and indirectly, ALL protestant religions.)

That's the recent history of the Catholic church - the whole ecumenical movement
- striving to bring christians together.

It is Christ's church which will be Christ's "bride", and that will include lots
more denominations than just Catholic, according to the Catholic church.

My opinion is that the author has a point of view he is trying to persuade you
to accept. It is partially true, partially false - and he is writing for a
particular (need I add not too friendly to the Pope?), audience. My suggestion
is to include liberal doses of salt in your diet as you read this! :)

I'd be more impressed if this author were to lead a congregation to greater
spirituality, frankly. Harping away at another religion, especially concerning a
future time frame no one currently alive on earth may live long enough to see,
is somewhat irrelevant. IMHO.

P.S. Wouldn't this be more appropriately posted to the Thinker's Forum?
