I belive that all techniques you mention above as well as almost all others of
chess are mimic the way of human thinking :)

The problem here (AI problem) is that we don't know exactly how human finds out
a move, thus, any algorithm which is so clear, exact will not be recognized as
human way.

But how human can select only 2 moves? Perhaps, by using something like
"nullmove" or "razoring" (cut off so stupid moves) ;)
