The problem of using it via an UCI adaptor is that the hashtables and search data get wiped each move. When running under fritz with the 'xfritz' toggle, this is not the case. Considering Gandalf is tested by the authors under the Fritz interface+ WinBoard adapter, and not with the UCI adapter, I would strongly disrecommend running it in UCI mode. -- GCP
