For those of you who may need a reminder, several days ago Mustafa posted this message: www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?245481 Specifically speaking, Junior played Nxe4 in this position: [D]r1bq1rk1/p1bnn1pp/2p5/2P2pP1/3pp3/Q1N4P/PP1BPPB1/2KR2NR w - - 0 15 Especially it should be noted that Mustafa said that he was using "my own settings with some changes".... At the end of the above thread, Stuart Taylor asked "...what do the human experts say?" Well, I asked 5-time US Chess Champion GM Larry Evans (who is a regular contributor to Chessmaster, Chess Life, and a live commentator at many major events), what HE thought. His answer was: There is no question that White's game stinks because of Black's active center pawns. Most humans probably would play 15 Na4 and hope for the best. 15 Nxe5!? might best be described as an act of desperation. I would agree with the sentiment that was expressed by the person who said that Nxe5 could be called a "regrettable necessity", and that White only won because of Black's later errors (most significant being 38...Rc2 and 39...Rxf6). Black was winning handily until then.... There you go! jm
