Mine is also June 4, which is probably the latest. I guess I'll have to keep my
fingers crossed because I use the Variation Board a lot!?

I just installed a new 80GB hard drive and reinstalled my op system and all my
software, including Fritz 7, so possibly that helped. Instead of applying all of
the Fritz7 patches & service packs along the way, I only applied the last two.
Maybe it was only necessary to apply the last service pack for my new
installation, but I ran into some special problems and ended up doing it that
way!? So I guess that's my only suggestion, maybe try reinstalling it and just
apply the last 1-2 service packs.

When I use the Variation Board, the first thing I do is click the "ยป" button to
goto the final position immediately. Then I go back to the beginning and play
through the Variation, if I want. The "access violation" errors happen at the
end of the move sequence, when you click the ">" key to go one move too far.
Maybe this is superstition, or maybe it helps, I'm not sure...
