If you are going to create yet-another-new-protocol anyway, I think
you would end up with a much better one if you address your issues with
UCI and make UCI 2 rather than to make another WB protocol version.

If you are going to add more things to WinBoard, it'll just become more
horrible. A horrible design doesn't fix itself by adding more cruft to it.

Another thing. The two most complained about UCI issues are learning and
pondering. Both of these can be addressed by some clever programming within
the existing spec. The flaws and shortcomings of the WinBoard protocol are
beyond repair.
