I'm pretty sure one of the top GMs (like maybe Kramnik) recently was quoted as saying that ANY GM using a modern chess program on modern hardware would be clearly stronger than any GM not using a computer (and also stronger than any computer not assisted by a GM). I wonder if even your average IM plus a computer would be stronger than Kramnik or Kasparov alone...
