Jonathan Schaeffer is a 2200 player.

Murray Campbell is also.

David Levy was once a chess programmer and was an IM at the time.

Vincent is a FM at present.

Dave Slate was a 2100 player.

Marty Hirsch was a 2200+ player.

Kittinger was a 2000+ player.

Monty Newborn was a 2000 player.

There are probably a few I failed to remember...

There are other ways to interpret the question too. IE Deep Blue had GM
players on the development team helping, and they were paid for their help.
