In fact the pattern recognition process is based prevalently on this chess
knowledge, knowledge that needs much time and practice of the game to be
correctly learned.
So we can't compare the knowledge accumulated by a GM of 30-40 years old with
that of a GM of 12 years old.
The strenght of the youngers GM relies IMHO in a more powerful tactical
abilities or searching capabilities as I reported in the following post:
