Hi, If two computers, one with a known rating and the other without a known rating, play a 10 game match, how close/accurate will the rating of the unknown computer be? Based on some rough mathematical modeling I've done based on SSDF results I am guessing it would be about 200 points. Does that sound about right? A related question: The most common rule of thumb that I have found in old issues of CCR is that a doubling (or halving) of computer thinking time (with thinking on opponent's time turned off) is worth 75 points at the USCF expert level. Is this still a valid rule of thumb? Thanx, Kerry
