Subject: Does my Palm Chesstiger work on my next Palm handheld?

When I installed Chesstiger to my Palm I got a number on screen, which is
hardware dependent. From that number I got a new number from Chesstiger support
to open the program.
But if I buy a new Palm handheld in future let's say in five years? Then I must
have a new number from Chesstiger support. I hope they still exist! I also have
a dictionary on my Palm that is hardware dependent. In other word my Palm
handheld programs live as long as the companies still exist. If all products
will be hardwaredependent in future it will be rather hazardous to buy a new
handheld.
