Well, operating systems are becoming a comodity.  A program should not really
care what the operating system is that it runs under.  As far as a chess program
is concerned, the engine has nothing to do with the operating system.  It is
generally written in C and at least the engine portion should be able to compile
on any platform that supports C.  The GUI is where the problem is and that
really should not be a problem.
