I just recently upgraded my "old" athlon to an Xp 1900+ running win 2kserver. I am fairly happy with the system and it outperforms my 800MHZ PIII on chess apps by almost 2X but not quite. Now I am waiting until spring and the "Hammer" release to upgrade my PIII box. From what Ive seen (hammers at 800 Mhz) they bench nearly to the equivalent of a 2X XP processor for most 32 bit apps (hammers at 800=Xp at 1600) . 64 Bits should be even better. I for one will wait and hopefully my Xmas work bonus will be enough to get an entry level Hammer which should debut around 2GhZ!! Id wait a little longer if I were you. Ed
