The fact that one set of data is simply larger than the other and is more convieniently stored in a file rather than in the executable shouldn't matter. If you think we should get rid of some data but not other data, that's hypocritical IMO. I agree with you José. I think it's about creating the strongest chess playing entity. If that's a computer that uses a giant lookup file, great. If it's a biological method where you mix chemicals and make a move depending on what color the resulting chemical is, great. How the program decides on it's move is irrelevant IMO. Russell
