buy them. read them out. play games, tournaments. save the games on HDD.
write articles about it. relate positions with different versions of
par ex, excellence etc.

very easy.
when you see par ex making a stupid move, you take out excellence and
try the same position with this machine. and than you can see if it plays
better concerning this topic.

this is no guaranty that it plays better with the pawns.
often programs make step backwards.

i don't see any contradiction in that.

i stay to my thesis that excellence had a better pawn play/handling
than par ex.

and that 2 versions of par ex exist, one with a tactical strenght
playing ugly double/trippe pawns, no idea about passed pawns/pawn pushing
and minority attack with pawns, and another one that plays like the excellence.

that means: good pawn handling.

maybe i still have the games that support my sayings. i can research for the
games / positions, if you want.
