In this position Deep Blue plays 44.Kf1, which will allow black to draw. Most think that Deep Blue had a won game with 44.Kh1, but instead made an inferior draw move by playing 44.Kf1. [D] R7/1r3kp1/1qQb1p1p/1p1PpP2/1Pp1B3/2P4P/6P1/6K1 w - - 0 1 so far I think 44.Kh1 Rb8 45.Ra6 Qxc6 46.dxc6 is best line. this leads to this position. [D] 1r6/5kp1/R1Pb1p1p/1p2pP2/1Pp1B3/2P4P/6P1/7K b - - 14 1 so now we have an opposite bishop endgame with Rooks after the above line. does anyone have the winning line for white after 44.Kh1. _____________________________________________________________ also if you set up the following position and let your program search for one hour or as long as you can, overnight would be best. note score. then move 45.Qe3. I think a GM made a mistake including this move in his analysis. i think 44.Kh1 Rb8 45.Ra6 Qe3 is a losing line for black with 45...Qe3 (46.Qxd6 Re8 47.Ra1 Kg8 loses) also it seems 45...Qf2 is losing for black. maybe only move is 45...Qxc6.
