Wow, that is one incredible virus! So you're telling me that this virus logged on to www.talkchess.com, and then it registered for an account here, and then it went through and picked up all of our email addresses from the forum, then sent all of us a virus? LOL... >I have never received one from him till now either, all the more reason to >assume it's simply a virus. Congratulations! You figured it out. It was indeed a virus. Did you figure this out all on your own? I think it's pretty obvious to everyone that it was a virus, but there might be another poor soul who didn't gather that from the conversation already I suppose... >Arn't you a sweetie.. Oh, I'm so sorry. Did I offend you by reacting in a non loving way to someone who intentionally spammed a bunch of CCC members with a virus? You're right, we aren't the victims here. Let's feel sorry for the jackass who sent out a mass virus. >Since you already e-mailed them and informed them of a problem what would be the >purpose of calling them....agh to lodge our complaints...thanks but since you >already did that, I think it's simpler to pass. That's probably best. You don't have a clue what's going on anyway. >Albert's original post warned members about the e-mails. I myself got 1/2 dozen >but do we simply open e-mail attachments for no reason. Come now this is the >COMPUTER chess club isn't it?. As far as I know, you are correct once again. Did you get a masters degree in "obviousness" by any chance? >Personally I think it's probably some young kid who's PC has little/no virus >protection. I think the problem is that you didn't do any thinking about this at all. >Innocent till proven guilty rings a bell. No it doesn't. This isn't a court. This is the Computer Chess Club, as you pointed out for us above. It's quite trivial to see that this was an intentional attack. If you are that thick headed that you really don't see how this was intentional, I'd be more than happy to explain it to you. >Why is everyone so >paranoid? Because this kind of thing has happened numerous times before. In the past it wasn't viruses. It was email forgings, which do not happen by accident. Goodbye, until next episode of Master of the Obvious, when Sarah will explain to everyone at CCC how to install a new keyboard, because after all, this is the COMPUTER (!) chess club. Russell
