With various patches that were released new engine version were released.
You can see the version by right clicking on the engine file in explorer and
left clicking on properties and then looking at version. The latest is 7,0,0,8
and is dated 05/19/2002. Sometimes a patch may not contain an engine and maybe
simply interface gui fixes or additions.

Since all engines are named Fritz 7.eng typically what I do is create a new
folder name it the version # then copy the engine to that folder. Then after a
new patch is installed if a new engine is created the old one is in the named
folder.

Sadly only one at a time can be run within the interface meaning switching them
if you wish to run 001 or 002 etc. With other engines in the past Junio 6 and
Fritz 6 for example it was possible to edit the engine so as to be able to run
different versions. With Fritz 7 as of yet I'm not aware that this can be done.

Sarah.
