Hi,
A friend of mine plays at the KasparovChess.com website and he tried running a
chess program while playing against someone on the web. The time controls for
his opponent becomes intermittent sometimes in the opponents favor (like it
stops for a few seconds then runs for a few seconds) which essentially increases
his opponent's thinking time. Also on another occasion this friend said his
computer hang-up twice because a program run in the background (like his chess
software) causes the Kasparov server to "act up" in his own words. I think they
have other ways to detect if one were playing a computer against humans. I do
not know, though, if 2 computers are playing each other presuming to be humans
on that server, what anomalies would come up.
