When I first got hooked up with compchess I used to play in Yahoo-chess. It is a great place to play, but the interface was somewhat annoying and would stall some slow computers. Your problem could have something to do with java itself. Have you recently updated any software in your computer? Does any of the update has anything to do with java or IE (or any other browser that you use)? Next time try to get the exact error message, it might be helpfull to understand what happened. cheers, pavs
