Hello,

if you let me know the paths of your folders

a) CM 8000, e.g. C:\Program files\Chessmaster 8000
b) Arena

then I will send you some prepared files for starting the CM 8000 engine "The
King 3.12d" (as UCI engine with the Wb2Uci adapter of Odd Gunnar Malin) in Arena
in an easy way - including the possibility to switch between some special CM
settings (like CM_default, CM_Fun, CM8777_Kleinert, CM_Schuele, CM_Pillen) very
simply.

Important is: Your Chessmaster 8000 must be installed and in your CM8k folder
there must be the file "TheKing.exe" (127.488 Byte); this is the engine "The
King 3.12d" resulting from the latest patch/upgrade 1.0.4 to Chessmaster 8000 -
look at
http://www.chessmaster.com/upgrade8000.html

BTW: My files work also for the King engine 3.12d in the GUIs of
- Fritz 7, Hiarcs 8 or CB-Shredder 6 (not in older CB GUIs without UCI support)
- Shredder 6 Classic or Shredder 5
- Chess Assistant 6.1
with the paths of these GUIs.

To CM 9000:
I asked John Merlino and he confirmed that the new King engine of CM 9000 (The
King 3.23) will also be a WinBoard engine with the known OPK number (copy
protection) like the King engine 3.12d of CM 8000.
So I suppose that there will be no problem to run also The King 3.23 in other
GUIs.

Regards,
Manfred
