Well, it is possible to go writing and reading from the memory of other
processes, at least in Windows. Not that any GUI does this.

I think this is the problem that people have with these kind of "GUI's". They
aren't really GUI's. A GUI should just allow the user to send those same
supported commands that your engine supports in console mode via a graphical
interface. The interface shouldn't act as "tournament director" IMO, it should
just send commands to the engine, and report back to the user via a move or
error messages or whatever.

Key words are of course "in this case" because you are using one of the
intrusive GUI's.
