I don't understand what you are expecting.
It's a very sad thing, but it's also a very odd time when the post was posted.
Which means major posters didn't logon to see the post or react/comment on it.
(Odd time for most US posters)

Ed will obviously be missed as a developer of Rebel. (which has been mentioned
by Ed himself about 6 months ago in this forum and have been discussed at great
length by many posters)
However, there is no indication, that he will stop contributing in this forum or
anything.


I never bought any Rebel product only because they were DOS, however I have deep
respect for him, and I am looking forward to buy RebelXP.

If this decision makes him happy, I am happy.
I am happy to see him happy.
