And where do FIDE get their money from :)
I don't think many outside the CC community know what ICCA are (a club with
4-500 members).

Thats what mean anything is that Kasparov have been in the news for more than 15
years.
I have nothing against Kasparov, on the contrary I think he have made much more
to make chess known than anybody else the latest ten years.

Imagine a match between Hussain and Bush. Not that they are popular outside
their own country but the have been in the news. I don't think people would look
one time on their rating but the match would most certainly attract more
attention.

I'm really don't see any good argument either from you or Uri against my first
note in this thread. Do you mean that rating numbers, who is the sponsore,
Junior won the latest tournament etc. is a factor that would attract more
people?

Here is a factor that I think mean just as much as rating etc.:
Association with the engines name.
Fritz - German precision
Junior - Brasillian brilliance

Another question is what are the meaning of more attention (attractive)

More viewers on the WEB or more mentioning in the press.

I'm almost sure the first goes to the Kramnik-Fritz match if Braingame follow up
their superb web-broadcast from the K-K match.

In the news-paper Kasparov's name would be easiest to sell.

It is a little pity that none of these programes take advantage that they are in
the news. Eg. start distribute the programs through normal game-shops so that
the grandparent who want to buy a present for his grandchild could find it when
he still remember the name from the paper.
