I am not sure that it is better or worse than the DTS paper's description.
It is fairly long, and Ph.D. committees are generally less interested in the
"how" and more interested in the "what"...  so there is some math.  Lots of
test results...  discussions about parallel search in general, etc...  but
it is a pretty big thing so details might be better described.  The DTS paper
is a reduction of one chapter, heavily hacked at the request of the referees.
