Crafty doesn't use a lot of memory.  The Mac might think it does, for reasons
unknown, but I have run it on machines with 1mb (PC) with no problems except
for the small hash size (default) used...

see if you have some option to tell the mac that crafty doesn't need more than
15mb or some such number.  It must be assuming something big...

and make sure you don't ask for some huge hash size (hash=48m will do the
trick and make it take nearly 64mb, for example)
