I care about the ratio of the _times_.. Last time I played a game of chess, my clock ticked off seconds, _not_ "nodes".. that is all I see reported here when people are comparing programs. Because it is _the_ performance measure of interest. Nodes scales perfectly with time/speedup. If you know one, you can derive the other, because one is a direct function of the other.
