I agree having to have the CD in at all times is very annoying however, with the Chessmaster 9000 setup it does prevent many from taking it to a friends house just to show them the program on their computer and then neglecting to take it off. I'm sure the vast majority of people have no idea how to crack the CD code so if one's friends are impressed enough with the product they will have to go out and buy themselves a legal copy since after 2 weeks or 24 startups their copy will be useless. I have no problem with the not so intrusive protection.
