It is just about measuring the raw NPS speed and nothing else. Any position will do, just so everybody uses the _same_ position as NPS does vary from position to position. I picked this one as I had it handy... It is a good one because it lets you get to depth=13 very quickly... But any position would work for the test, and this may really not be the best one as the tree is pretty narrow, while wide/bushy trees are best for peak NPS.
