Uncompressed, and using "byte adressing" - yes. Compressed - not necessarily (at
least, when similar distributions of mate distances are assumed). Also, I think
it should be obvious, that with some more overhead, bit adressing will yield in
a factor smaller 2 - say 7 bits compared to 10 bits for uncompressed sizes.
