I did apply the patch (V 1.0.1). However, after rebooting my machine, I can no
longer reproduce the problem. Odd. I suspect the problem came from unknowingly
starting multiple engines. It is easy to start up the mentor (i.e. Chessmaster
Engine) and then go to another room leaving the mentor running. In those
situations, the mentor continues to burn CPU even though you have gone to
another room. A few days back I had a problem with multiple engines running
(real slow analysis then!) and I had trouble killing off all engines (via Task
Manager) and the CPU burn continued until I existed CM9000. I suspect this may
have been my situation last night when I posted my original message.
