Are some engines apparently better at using their time than others? Do they choose the critical junctures well to think longer? What strategies do they use to marshall their time, simply quiescence searches (or not so simple?) Has anyone tried seeing if programs with poor control of the clock benefit in matches from Fischer time controls?
