I get impression it might work different in USA. Anyway my opinion is
that a scientist who is removing a factor 2 in his articles where
a few % matter, is not worth to be called a scientist. He's someone
we call 'uitvreter' here after the famous book from the start 1920s.
I am not sure there is equivalent word for it in foreign languages.
