I wish there was a standard benchtest using some type of chess software, so that we could see the results when these guys compare so many different mhz. It seems these tests have so many variables with differences in sse and types of memory. The Sandra cpu SP1 benchtest shows the Amd 2666 mhz beating the 3600 mhz Intel, but in most of the others it is down on the list. It would also seem we are not comparing same mhz, with difference in fsb and multiplier, Intel is way ahead in actual clock speed. words are words: not sure how Intel and Amd are using the words multiplier and fsb. not sure if when Intel says 27 multiplier---if this is also exact meaning of Amd multiplier. I would think that when the windows software shows multiplier and fsb speed, that this would mean both companies are using same definition of these two words that microsoft uses. regardless of all of these variables with mhz and memory, both companies are offering a level of mhz that make todays chess software very strong against human opponents. In seems in the next months, mhz is going to increase very much. 3000 mhz single processor, and dual 2500 mhz machines very soon. http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q3/020909/index.html kburcham
