I have just asked John Merlino how to turn off "pondering" in the CM9000 I pre-ordered. This is a silly question to most of you but not to me who is trying to pit software against software or against humans. I play mainly Blitz at the KasparovChess website and there are a number of people actually having their Fritz7 or Juniors play against humans. Their ratings go all the way up to 4000 which is ridiculous not so much as these are non-Elo highs but because some of them have the nerve to pass as humans. I'd like to pit them against my new CM9K using a 2200+Athlon if I can build it soon enough. Sandi
